2012 Branson Tornado

These are some aftermath photos from the tornado that came through Branson last night.
Looking out the bedroom of our apartment complex (and being on the top floor) and seeing the wind and the rain literally going in circles was NUTS! Especially with the horrible destruction from Joplin last year and seeing how intense that was and the devastation it caused.

These were some random shots I took in a hurry as we drove across Branson - through the glass in our car, not great quality, but just wanted to share. We didn't want to intrude on workers getting things done, nor get in the way so we didn't go get in the middle of it all, but the damage was much more serious than what you see in the photos.

Thoughts and prayers to all affected today - not just in Branson but all over the area.
Branson is tough and we will rebuild and recover quickly!

This is Wal-Mart/Jubilee on Hwy 76 on the strip. The rocks all over were probably from landscaping. But they were thrown about the parking lot.

Beautiful home that was destroyed.

Talk about an easy going couple! They were willing to do just about anything for a fun photo including enduring the crazy summer heat, climbing up on top of a semi truck, risking getting ticks to get into weeds, climbing down rocks to get a shot in the creek. Needless to say - we had a ton of fun during our engagement session!

I always describe her as the girl in my photos that looks like a barbie doll. She is gorgeous!

Together they are like a real life Barbie & Ken. True story. Random, I know.

But really - they were an awesome couple to work with - they both

are super easy-going and fun to work with. It was a beautiful peacock-themed wedding.

They also have a daughter - Cadence - who is both adorable & fun!

May 22nd Joplin Tornado Aftermath Photos

On May 22, 2011 an Ef5 tornado hit Joplin, MO. I have family, friends & clients from that area.

We went with a group yesterday to assist some of my family with the cleanup.

It was truly a blessing and an honor to see all the thousands upon thousands of people

helping the people of Joplin. I've never seen a community come together like I did yesterday.

It was an emotional day & unlike any of us had ever seen - we all saw

some things that were completely disturbing and horrific... But for the Joplin people

to stand up and begin to rebuild & clean up - shows a lot of strength & courage.

I was truly pleased to be able to call myself an American, and even moreso a "Missourian."

It is truly a miracle of God that anyone survived this tornado.

Metal wrapped around the trees. A truck also was crushed.

Remember in elementary school when they would have tornado drills & the teachers would have you

get under your desks? WELL, this office building was torn apart as you can tell, the desks are still sitting

on there - almost untouched. I guess the drills really do work!

Miracle testimony: My great aunt Florene & Uncle Harvey were in this hallway when the tornado

hit. The opening you see was where a whole house fan sat. It did not fall on them - it flew upwards instead & stood upright in the attic - and they survived! PRAISE GOD! It's a miracle they are alive & God get's the glory for it. It's not by chance, not by luck, it's by the mercy, grace & love of God.

A tornado survivor: a bunny. It didn't know where to go.

I also met a chicken that survived the tornado. She was only 1 of the 6 total chickens that survived.

And now she is a backyard pet, and a very sweet chicken. : )

The writing means that police dogs had gone through to check for people that may still be missing.

I really loved and was honored to do photos of Traci & Don! They were so much fun. They are very romantic and love eachother so much and it really showed during their session. We did some pictures of Micah & Marcia out at C of O. Micah proposed to her there and she also attended school there so it only seemed fitting. These two lovebirds were definitely one of the easiest couples to work with - they were up for doing anything and had fun doing it. I barely had to give them any direction at all - they were confident in what they were doing so it really made it very easy on me. When you're confident in your session, you get many great shots - and we got so many great shots!!

We did Bailey's High School Senior Photos in Eureka Springs, AR. I think this place is my new favorite place to shoot and hope to do more sessions there very soon! The lighting was perfect and beautiful that morning, and we worked with the sun to get some "glowing" photos. Bailey was fun to work with and did a great job at modeling for the camera! She was a trooper during our 3 hour session!

Jasper is such a precious & blessed baby! I had fun taking her pictures - she did very well!! What was cool about this shoot was that we took these in a parking lot and they still turned out great. We moved Jasper maybe 3-4 times but still stayed within a very small area.
